  1. How is my rating calculated?
  2. Your rating is calculated through a combination of kills, deaths, assists and captures. This statistic is then compared to every other player in the system to determine your overall rank.

  3. Why are rpg and grenade accuracies so high?
  4. Because you can damage and kill more than one player with these weapons.

  5. How often are the front page "superlatives" updated?
  6. The front page "superlatives" (Top-Rated Player, etc) are updated once a week.

  7. I played a game but I haven't appeared in the user list and I can't find the game. What happened?
  8. ModStats makes new data available at the end of each hour. Please be patient while we process the new information. If your information does not appear within an hour it is possible that your game did not make it in. Several things could be to blame:

    1. The server you were playing on could not make a connection to the global stats server. All is not lost! Your game will be uploaded as soon as the connection can be established.
    2. The server you were playing on had some settings that were incompatible with those required to record a game. For example, sv_lan or sv_cheats could have been set to 1.
    3. Your game may not have had four players or last less than one minute. In both case games will not be recorded.
    4. The server you were playing on was using an old version of the stats dll. There is nothing we can do here. Part of our measures to prevent cheaters including not allowing games from out of date dlls. Encourage the server to update the plugin.

  9. Under what conditions will the plugin record data?
  10. Statistics will be recorded only on dedicated servers (no listen server support) with at least four players. In addition, games will be required to last for at least one minute and may not have sv_lan or sv_cheats set to 1.

  11. I think I found a bug, how do I report it?
  12. Send an e-mail to us at info@planofattackgame.com.

  13. How do I find my stats?
  14. Search for your player name or steam ID in the search box in the upper-left corner of the web site.

  15. What is a Capture?
  16. You get a capture, or "cap", when your team successfully captures an objective and you end the round in that objective.

  17. What is an Assist?
  18. Assists are a reward for damaging a player. If you inflict more than half the damage to another player prior to their death you will receive an assist.

  19. What is a Team Win?
  20. Team Wins are awarded to players who were on the team that won a game.

  21. What are you doing about cheaters?
  22. There are two methods that could be used to artificially increase an individual"s score on ModStats. The first of these is to send fake data (ie. not generated by the ModStats plugin) to our server. There are several measures in place to prevent this variety of cheating including encryption and general data integrity checks. The second method would be to cheat while actually playing the game (speed hacks, etc.). Unfortunately there is little we can do about this form of cheating. However, as their stats increase it will become obvious who these individuals are and we will be able to weed them out.

  23. What are the different ranks?
  24. Ranks are like experience levels. Your rank is based on your kills, captures, team wins, and time played. Your rank will only go up. The bar below your rank is your progress bar until you "level up." Below are the different ranks in Plan of Attack:

    • Private
    • Private First Class
    • Specialist
    • Corporal
    • Sergeant
    • Staff Sergeant

The Plugin

  1. Adding the plugin makes my server crash immediately! What's up?
  2. This is most likely a directory structure issue. Make sure you are running your server from the SourceMods directory.

  3. The plugin doesn't seem to be loading. What can I do?
  4. The source engine is told to load the plugin by the modstats.vdf file in the addons directory. This file should contain a reference to modstats/bin. If you are having trouble getting the plugin to load try changing this reference to the complete path to the plugin leaving out the .dll or .so extension. ("file" "D:\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\planofattack\bin\modstats") Unforunately the Windows dedicated server will only tell you if it fails to load the plugin. Linux will give you an indication of both success and failure. Neither distribution will give you a reason...
